Delhi High Court Appoints Justice Amit Sharma as a Permanent Judge

Today, the State notifies that Justice Amit Sharma Appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Delhi High Court.

Last year in the month of May, the central Government notified the appointment of Justice Amit Sharma as Additional Judge of Delhi High Court. In November 2021, his name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegiums for elevation as a judge of the Delhi High Court. The law Minister

 Mr Kiren Rijiju made the announcement through Twitter in which he said –

As per relevant provisions under the Constitution, the following Additional Judges are appointed as Permanent Judges of respective High Courts. I extend my best wishes to them.

Last month, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended that Justice Sharma be made a permanent judge against an existing vacancy.

“Having regard to all the relevant factors, the Collegium is of the considered view that Shri Justice Amit Sharma, Additional Judge, is suitable for being appointed as a Permanent Judge of the High Court of Delhi,” the Collegium said.
