Delhi HC Seeks Response on Plea for Separate Website for Rouse Avenue Court

The Delhi High Court has sought responses on a petition advocating for an independent website for Rouse Avenue Court, citing its distinct status and the absence of a dedicated online platform.

The plea, filed by advocate Abhinav Garg, pointed out that while all other district courts in Delhi have standalone websites, Rouse Avenue Court lacks one, leading to operational inefficiencies.

The petitioner argued that litigants and lawyers depend on digital platforms for case-related information, and the absence of a dedicated website causes confusion and accessibility issues.

It was further contended that the Central District Court’s website does not directly reference Rouse Avenue Court, making it challenging for users to locate crucial details. The petition emphasized that a separate website would streamline communication and improve access to essential resources such as case statuses, notifications, circulars, and e-filing services.

A unified website for multiple courts, the plea argued, results in unnecessary confusion and delays in legal proceedings.

Recognizing the concerns regarding accessibility and efficiency, the Delhi High Court observed that a distinct digital platform for Rouse Avenue Court could enhance judicial operations. The Bench directed the respondents to submit their replies within three weeks, scheduling the next hearing for April 14. The case outcome could influence efforts to improve the digital infrastructure of judicial institutions.
