The matter of arrest of Congress leader Pawan Kheda has heated up today and the Congress has gone to the Supreme Court on this issue. Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the matter before Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and demanded an urgent hearing. Singhvi said that Pawan Khera was first detained by the Assam Police and is now being taken with him.

Singhvi told the CJI that Pawan Khera had made some comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on this issue FIRs have been registered against him in different states. Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that what statement he has given, I do not support it, but am only demanding the FIR to be consolidated.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi further said that Pawan Kheda had boarded the flight at 11 am, then he was suddenly taken off the flight on the ground that his luggage is missing. The basis of which is the complaints lodged in Banaras, Lucknow and Assam. Singhvi continued his point and said that Assam Police is asking to take him with them from Delhi airport. They are there till 3 o'clock.

On this, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud asked who is this Pawan Kheda?

On this AM Singhvi replied that he is the spokesperson of the Congress and keeps on talking to the press. He had given a statement, which I do not support, but FIRs are being lodged in different states.

On this plea of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, CJI DY Chandrachud agreed to hear the case at 3:00 pm. The case was then heard at 3:00 pm and Pawan Kheda was given relief by the Surpeme Court.
