The Central government has cleared the appointment of additional judge Justice Amit Sharma as a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court.

It was informed by Kiran Rijuju, the Union Law Minister on his Twitter handle. The Supreme Court Collegium recommended that Justice Sharma be made permanent on 15th February, 2023. The resolution passed by the Supreme Court Collegium had noted that the Delhi High Court Collegium had unanimously recommended on January 9 that Justice Sharma be made a permanent judge. The Supreme Court Collegium held a consultation with Supreme Court judges conversant with the affairs of the Delhi High Court.

He was elevated a judge of Delhi High Court on 02.06.2022.
