On Wednesday, the Central government officially announced the appointment of Justice PS Dinesh Kumar as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.
The Union Minister of State, holding independent charge of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, used X (formerly Twitter) to communicate and disclose this significant development.
On January 19, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Kumar as Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.
Justice Kumar, who has been serving as a judge in the Karnataka High Court since 2015, is scheduled to retire on February 24. Prior to his appointment to the bench in 2015, he had an extensive legal career as a practicing lawyer, starting in 1990. During this period, he gained experience by handling significant cases in various High Courts and the Supreme Court.
