Celebrating 75 years of justice: Supreme Court's diamond jubilee event

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Supreme Court is set to host a diamond jubilee event on Sunday, January 28. The event, marking the diamond jubilee celebration, promises to be a significant milestone in the annals of Indian judiciary, symbolizing decades of unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.

The Supreme Court of India was inaugurated on January 28, 1950, within the premises of the Parliament building due to the absence of a dedicated Supreme Court facility at that time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to grace the occasion with his presence and deliver the opening speech. The event will also be graced by the presence of Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud will deliver the main address, showcasing various digital initiatives undertaken by the apex court under his leadership.

A highlight of the event will be the inauguration of the new Supreme Court website, Digital Courts 2.0, and Digital Supreme Court reports, symbolizing the apex court's embrace of technology in its quest for judicial excellence.
