Andhra Pradesh HC delays Naidu's bail plea in skill development scam

The bail petition of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development Corporation scam case was adjourned by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday. The hearing has been transferred to a vacation bench.

Naidu's legal team was informed by the Court that it was not favorably disposed towards granting him temporary bail in the case. The Court rejected the interim bail request because the Supreme Court is taking a similar stance regarding Naidu's petition. Additionally, the High Court requested the submission of Naidu's most recent medical reports.

In the meantime, the special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court has extended Naidu's judicial remand until November 1.

During the virtual appearance of the former Chief Minister before the ACB court, Judge B S V Hima Bindu inquired about his health.

Naidu informed her that he was not feeling well, and in response, the Judge stated that she would review his medical reports. She also took note of the fact that the High Court was also overseeing the situation.

The next hearing in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court is anticipated to take place on October 26.

Naidu was detained on September 9 on allegations of misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, which reportedly led to a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state treasury.
