Allahabad HC Seeks reply from Airport Authority regarding facilities at Bamrauli Airport

Recently, during the hearing of advocate Ajay Kumar Mishra's PIL, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Pritinkar Diwakar and Justice Ashutosh Srivastava of the Allahabad High Court granted the Airport Authority time to respond to the PIL concerning the inadequate facilities and cessation of flights at Prayagraj's Bamrauli Civil Airport. The court scheduled the next hearing on November 28.

The state government also supported the issues raised in the petition and said that there is lack of facilities in the airport. This should be increased. This PIL has basically been filed demanding the construction of a civil airport in Prayagraj. In this, the issue of reduction in flights from Prayagraj by giving an application has also been added.

It has been said that Mahakumbh is to be organized in Prayagraj in the near future. According to the aviation policy of the Central Government and the State Government, there was a plan to promote regional flights but on the contrary, flights are being reduced. Flights to Raipur, Indore and Gorakhpur have been cancelled.

In response, in the affidavit filed in the court by the Director General Civil Aviation, it has been said that the Civil Aviation Department has no role in stopping the flights. This is the private airline companies' own decision.

Petitioner Ajay Kumar Mishra said that he will also file the civil aviation policy of the state and central government in the court. Under this, it is the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Ministry to prepare a framework to promote regional flights so that the number of flights in smaller airports can be further increased. Senior advocates Anoop Trivedi and Vibhu Rai presented their side on behalf of the petitioner.
