On Monday, the Allahabad High Court conducted a session concerning the dispute over Shri Krishna's birthplace in Mathura and the Shahi Idgah.
The court did not arrive at a decision regarding the specific method or type of survey that the Advocate Commissioner would conduct.
During the proceedings, the Muslim party presented an argument citing the filing of a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court on their behalf.
The court has reserved its decision on this angle. The court is yet to decide whether the High Court can issue orders after the case is pending in the Supreme Court. The decision has also been reserved on the demand for a simultaneous hearing of all 18 cases related to Mathura. Which may come by this evening or tomorrow.
A hearing was convened by Justice Mayank Kumar Jain, a single bench, to determine the nature of the Advocate Commission to be employed in the case.
Today, the vakalatnama of some new lawyers was filed from the Hindu side. Some lawyers also remained connected through video conferencing. During the hearing, the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board said that SLP has been filed in the Supreme Court.
The process of becoming commissioner should be taken forward only after the decision of the Supreme Court. After which, the court asked for the details of the SLP.
Earlier in this matter, on December 14, Allahabad High Court accepted the petition to conduct a survey of Shahi Idgah Mosque adjacent to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple. In the petition, there was a demand for appointment of Advocate Commissioner under the supervision of the court, which was accepted by the court.
