Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has filed a lawsuit in the Madras High Court, claiming compensation from Trisha Krishnan, Kushboo Sundar, and Chiranjeevi Konidela. The lawsuit is in response to what he alleges are defamatory statements made against him on the social media platform "X" (formerly Twitter).
After the success of the movie "Leo," Mansoor spoke to the media and made remarks about his co-actor Trisha. His comments drew widespread criticism for being misogynistic and disrespectful. Trisha took to social media to express her displeasure and publicly denounced Khan's statements.
Chennai police had filed a case against Khan under Sections 354A and 509 of the IPC. Khan sought anticipatory bail, but the court rejected it due to insufficient case details. Khan publicly apologized for his remarks, and Trisha accepted his apology.
In his plea to the Madras High Court, Khan asserts that the actors accused of defamation made public statements without properly verifying the truth. He clarified that his comments were directed at negative characters portrayed, not personal remarks.
