Today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha filed a petition in Delhi’s Patiala House Courts against the Rajya Sabha Secretariat after it cancelled the allotment of a Type-VII bungalow to him.

Raghav Chadha, in his plea, argued that he could not have been dispossessed of the official bungalow without due procedure and the letter cancelling the allotment is illegal.

Earlier, in March the Rajya Sabha Secretariat cancelled the allotment of a Type-VII bungalow in Delhi's Pandara Road to AAP's Raghav Chadha. Subsequently,

Thereafter, he approached Patiala House Courts against RS Secretariat and got a stay order against dispossession.

In the previous hearing,  Patiala House Courts directed that Chadha "shall not be dispossessed without due process of law".

The Upper House Secretariat filed an application opposing Chadha's plea and arguing that the court could not have passed the April 19 order without hearing the secretariat.

On June 1, the Rajya Sabha MP filed a reply to the application, arguing that he had been legitimately allotted the bungalow as per procedure by the RS Chairman, had moved to the Type-VII bungalow after renovations and that the allotment letter itself contained the circumstances/situations where he can be asked to vacate the premises.

Chadha has argued that the RS Secretariat’s letter cancelling the allotment is "arbitrary".

The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for July 10.
