14 Opposition Parties Go To Supreme Court Alleging Misuse Of Agencies

Fourteen opposition parties have approached the Supreme Court, alleging the misuse of central investigating agencies by the government.

The petitioners which include the Indian National Congress, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazahgam and Rashtraiya Janata Dal have sought pre-arrest guidelines. The matter was listed before Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud

Senior Counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi requested an urgent listing.

"14 political parties have come together, seeking pre-arrest guidelines and their enforcement. Today CBI ED entirely being used against us," Singhvi said

He further claimed that 95 per cent of probes by central agencies are against leaders from opposition parties.

The next date of hearing is on April 5
