Uttarakhand Government included 26 more advocates in High Court Panel, number crossed 65 after third list

The state government has expanded its roster of advocates on the government panel of the High Court by adding 26 additional advocates. With the inclusion of these advocates in the third list, the total number of government advocates has now exceeded 65. This list was officially released on the evening of August 29 and bears the signature of Principal Secretary Law and Justice, Narendra Dutt.

In this, former President of the High Court Bar Association, K.S. Bora, has been appointed as the Deputy Advocate General (Criminal), K.S. Mehta, Rajeev Bisht, and K.K. Sah have been appointed as Additional Chief Standing Counsel.

Former Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, Jayvardhan Kandpal, Devendra Bora, Anil Kumar Bisht, Rajesh Pandey, and Devendra Pant have been appointed as Standing Counsel.

Vijay Singh Pal, SC Dumka, Devendra Singh, Bhaskar Joshi, Mrityunjay Kumar Chand, and MA Khan have been appointed as Assistant Public Prosecutors. Saurabh Pandey, Vipul Panjwani, Sandeep Sharma, Rakesh Negi, Akshay Latwal, Meenakshi Sharma have been appointed as Brief Holders (Criminal), and Bhupendra Koranga, Deepak Bhardwaj, Pan Singh Bisht, Rajni Suyal, and Bharat Bhushan Tiwari have been appointed as Brief Holders (Civil). Another list is expected to be released soon.

The state government of Dhami is taking significant steps regarding the government lawyers' panel in the High Court. The latest list also considers the professional background of the advocates. For the first time since the state's formation, Rajiv Bisht, the son of the late Advocate Govind Singh Bisht, one of the founding members of the Jan Sangh and the High Court Bar Association, has been appointed as an Additional Advocate General.

Former District Magistrate Bisht has been close to former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Most of the advocates on the list are considered supporters of the ideology of the Advocates' Association or the BJP. Along with seniority and experience, special attention has been given to legal experts in various legal matters.
