Supreme Court goes for Live streaming in a historic First

The Supreme Court went for the first time fully functional Live Streaming of its hearing before the constitution bench. Today on 27.09.2022, the Apex Court had three constitution bench matters and all of them were live streamed on its own platform. The Supreme Court had recently indicated that the Live streaming would take place from 27.09.2022 onwards. The Decision to live streaming of the Constitution Bench Live Hearing was taken by a unanimous decision at a full court meeting headed by Chief Justice of India UU Lalit.

The then Chief Justice of India Justice Deepak Mishra-led bench had given a landmark judgment on 27 September 2018  on the live telecast of important proceedings in matters of constitutional importance saying "sunlight is the best disinfectant."

The three benches of the Constitution benches matters were headed by the top three judges of the Supreme Court. who are hearing some important cases such as Shiv Sena Case, Delhi Government-LG Case
