In a pioneering move, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has embarked on a significant project aimed at translating all the judgments of Supreme Court into vernacular languages. This groundbreaking effort seeks to make legal proceedings more accessible and comprehensible to a wider populace. As part of the initiative, the translated judgments in Hindi will be accompanied by their English counterparts. To ensure the accuracy and authenticity of these translations, the Supreme Court has called upon retired judicial officers to participate.
Retired judges who are interested in contributing to this monumental undertaking can volunteer for the task. Their role involves verifying and vetting the translated content, a task that will be conducted online. In recognition of their efforts, a remuneration of INR 100/- will be provided for each page of verification and vetting conducted.
The initiative, spearheaded by Joint Registrar DIVAKER DWIVEDI, represents a step forward in making legal knowledge accessible to a diverse population. By involving retired judicial officers, the Supreme Court is tapping into a wealth of experience and legal acumen to uphold the accuracy and quality of the translated judgments.
