The Madras High Court has issued an order preventing the Music Academy from presenting the 'Sangita Kalanidhi M S Subbulakshmi Award' to musician T M Krishna.

The Court stated that while the award could be granted, it should not be done in the name of MS Subbulakshmi.

Justice G Jayachandran issued the interim order in response to a suit filed by M S Subbulakshmi's grandson, who argued that conferring the award in her name went against her wishes and intentions.

The Court also rejected an application filed by the Music Academy, seeking the dismissal of the complaint submitted by Subbulakshmi's grandson, who challenged the conferment of the award to T. M. Krishna.
