Lists are not published by the midnight: Judges and advocates face problem in Supreme Court

In Supreme Court, these days supplementary lists are published late at night. This is causing issues with advocates and the judges as well. The fraternity still can generate humor out of it, as seen today in the Supreme Court courtroom.

In the Court of justice BR Gavai and BV Narathna while the hearing of the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case was going on, the Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta was present in the court but the Additional Solicitor General K.M. Natraj was not present. The bench enquired about his absence in the court.

SG Mehta told the court that "The difficulty is that the supplementary list comes late at night. The central agency finds it difficult to circulate the docket"

On this justice, Gavai quickly replied "We judge also got at midnight."

Sr. Advocate Sanjay Hegde who was present in the court intervened and said on the lighter side that "There's an English judge who said he thought slavery was abolished till he became a judge".

Again Justice Gavai quickly replied, "We will not comment on that."
