Kerala HC Judges and Families Narrowly Escape Pahalgam Terror Attack, Leave Area Hours Before Incident

Three judges of the Kerala High Court—Justice Anil K Narendran, Justice G Girish, and Justice PG Ajithkumar—along with their families, narrowly avoided the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, having left the area just hours before the incident.

According to The Hindu, the group had departed Pahalgam in the morning, just a few hours before terrorists struck in the afternoon, claiming 28 lives and injuring several others.

The judges and their families had arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on April 17, embarking on a tour of various districts and popular tourist spots. Their itinerary included an overnight stay in Pahalgam on April 21, during which they visited local attractions.

On April 22, the group left Pahalgam around 9:30 AM and reached Srinagar, approximately 90 kilometers away, by noon—well before the attack occurred later that day.

News of their presence in the area at the time of the attack sparked concern within legal and judicial circles. However, it was soon confirmed that the judges and their families had safely exited the region and were unharmed.
