Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia Judge, Himachal Pradesh High Court resigns

Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia of the Himachal Pradesh High Court has tendered his resignation from the office.

The resignation would be effective from November 2, a notification published on the Law Ministry website said that "Justice Chander Bhusan has tendered his resignation from the office of Judge, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, in pursuance of proviso (a) to clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution, with effect from 02ndNovember, 2022 (afternoon)."

Justice Barowalia was born on March 15, 1961. He started his practiced as an advocate in 1984 before the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and other Courts in Shimla.

He was appointed Additional District and Sessions Judge, on 10th January 2003 and served in district judiciary before being appointed Registrar (Judicial) in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. He was then appointed as Registrar General of the High Court before being elevated as additional judge of the High Court on 12th April 2016. He was confirmed permanent judge in January 2018.
