Delhi Court extends judicial custody of suspended Delhi govt officer Premoday Khakha by 14 days

Yesterday, Delhi Court extended the Judicial Custody of suspended Delhi Government officer Premoday Khakha by 14 days who allegedly raped a minor several times and impregnated her.

Further, the Court has extended the custody of the wife of the accused, Seema Rani's accused of giving medicine terminate to the girl for her pregnancy.

The Couple was produced before Additional Sessions Judge Richa Parihar. Counsel for the accused, Umashankar Gautam said both the accused will be now produced in court after completion of their judicial custody on September 6.

Khakha is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the girl from November 2020 to January 2021. According to the police, the victim had been living at the accused's residence, as he was a family friend, following the death of her father on October 1, 2020.

The couple was arrested on Monday after the victim recorded her statement before a magistrate at a hospital.

A case has been filed under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These include IPC sections 376(2)(f) (which pertains to rape committed by a relative, guardian, teacher, or a person in a position of trust or authority towards the victim) and 509 (related to acts intended to outrage the modesty of a woman).

Additionally, the case involves IPC sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 313 (causing miscarriage without the woman's consent), and 120B (criminal conspiracy), as stated by the police.
