Daler Mehandi gets bail in human trafficking case from P&H High Court

It was alleged against Daler Mehandi and his brother Shamsher Singh that he has earned huge money by trafficking people "Kabootarbaji" to foreign countries as members of his group. 

Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended the sentence of Punjabi Singer Daler Mehandi who is in jail. It is a 19 years old case lodged by one Bakhshish Singh in 2003 against Daler Mehandi and Trial Court has awarded 2 years imprisonment to him. Shamsher Singh is co-accused in this case but he died in 2017. It was alleged by Bakhshish Singh that they have demanded 20 lacs but the deal was fixed for 12 lacs and this money was also given. Thereafter, they demanded 5 lacs more but he did not have that much money and gave Daler one lac rupees but Daler Could not send him to Canada. He was also threatened with death.

In 2018, the Judicial Magistrate First Class has held both the brothers guilty of the offence and they were ordered to undergo 2 years imprisonment and they there were extended benefit of bail and an appeal was filed before the Sessions Court.

It is also to be noted that police have received such 35 other complaints against both brothers during that period of time.
