Aurangabad Bench of Bombay HC Shuts Down Temporarily as Oil Tanker Mishap Causes Gas Leak Near Court Premises

Due to a gas leak from an overturned oil tanker in close proximity to the court building, the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court had to cease its operations for the day.

A collision has been reported involving an oil tanker transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which struck the sidewall of a flyover near Jalna Road, Vasantrao Naik Chowk, Udan Bridge at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

This incident resulted in a significant gas leak, releasing a substantial amount of gas into the air and affecting the nearby locality.

In response to the gas leak incident, the District Collector invoked Section 144(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, issuing an order to shut down all offices situated within a one-kilometer radius of the leakage area.

According to the working staff, the High Court building was also asked to be vacated at 11 a.m. today as a precautionary measure against possible mishaps from the gas.

Radhakrushna Ingole, the Secretary of the High Court Bar Association at the Aurangabad bench, conveyed that the courts would remain non-operational during the second session as well.
