Today, the Supreme Court of India held that there will be no NEET Re-Examination.
"re-exam will have far reaching implication" , says Supreme Court.
The Court during the hearing noted that ordering a re-examination would have serious consequences, impacting over 2.3 million students and disrupting the academic schedule, which would create a cascading effect in the coming years..
Further, the Court stated that there is insufficient evidence on record to conclude that the exam results are invalid or that there is a systemic breach in the sanctity of the exam.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, issued the order in response to a series of petitions seeking to cancel the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) held for undergraduate medical admissions on May 5, 2024, due to paper leaks and malpractices. The results were declared on June 4.
