The District Legal Services Authority has facilitated a direct transfer of Rs 10 lakh (approximately 11,126.20 euros) into the account of the Spanish tourist who reportedly suffered a dreadful gang rape incident in Dumka, Jharkhand.
Dumka Deputy Commissioner Anjaneyulu Dodde and SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar handed over a check and a formal letter confirming the transfer of the compensation to the victim's husband.
Under the leadership of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), Ranchi, a compensation initiative was launched. An immediate meeting was called under the guidance of Anil Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Dumka.
This meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Anjaneyulu Dodde, Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar, and Dalsa Secretary Uttam Sagar Rana to ensure effective coordination in facilitating the compensation process.
