The Central government has approved the elevation of two judicial officers, Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem, as judges of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
Their appointments were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on April 16 and were confirmed on Tuesday by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Arjun Ram Meghwal, through a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Shahzad Azeem currently serves as the Registrar General of the High Court, while Sanjay Parihar has previously held the position of Principal District and Sessions Judge in Jammu.
With their inclusion, the High Court now has 13 sitting judges, including the Chief Justice, against a sanctioned strength of 25.
