In a significant decision, the Supreme Court of India has designated six retired judges of various High Courts as Senior Advocates. The decision was made during a full court meeting held on April 1.
The following former judges have been conferred the Senior Advocate title:
Justice Ambadas Haribhau Joshi – Former judge, Bombay High Court
Justice Chander Shekhar – Former judge, Delhi High Court
Justice Cyril Thamarai Selvam – Former judge, Madras High Court
Justice Prithviraj Keshavrao Chavan – Former judge, Bombay High Court
Justice Rajbir Sehrawat – Former judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court
Justice Raj Mohan Singh – Former judge, Madhya Pradesh High Court
The designation recognizes their distinguished service and contribution to the judiciary.
