The bench of Justices BR Gavai, Vikram Nath, and Sanjay Karol issued a notice for aggravated contempt to a lawyer namely Deepak Khosla. 

The bench issued notice to the advocate Khosla for remarks made by him in an application that an order passed by the Supreme Court was nullity since one of the judges was related to the other side. 

On this Justice Gavai said that the order under question was passed by the bench of him and justice CT Ravikumar and he had been in Delhi for the last three and half years and he never met the other side. 

During the course of the argument, it was revealed that there have been various contempt petitions pending against advocate Khosla, therefore, this notice for aggravated contempt was issued.

The bench also expressed that it could have sent him to Tihar Jail right from the court but it afforded an opportunity to reply to the show cause
