The Supreme Court of India has revealed data that shows, it has 22 cases pending for more than 30 years.

The Supreme Court has started a new initiative that shows data on institutions and disposal regularly. It shows daily disposal as well as daily institution in the Supreme Court.

As per the Supreme Court website, there are a total of 79848 cases pending. Out of them 22 cases are pending for 30 years, 398 cases are pending for 21-30 years,  9311 cases are pending for 11-20 years, 18407 cases are pending for 6-10 years, 12630 cases for 4-5 years, 14365 cases pending for 2-3 years and 24715 cases pending for 0-1 year.

The data also shows that last year 42744  cases were filed whereas the Supreme Court disposed of 54565 cases.

This year 49926 cases have been filed so far and the Supreme Court has disposed of 48640 cases.
