The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that accused Delhi Chief Minister Atishi of allowing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia and his family to continue living in a bungalow allocated to her.
A Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela stated that any breach of regulations should be addressed by the appropriate authorities, who are fully capable of taking the necessary actions.
"We do not find it appropriate to issue any orders in this petition," the court ruled.
The PIL, filed by social worker Sanjeev Jain, alleged that despite Sisodia’s arrest in March 2023 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, his family remained in the government bungalow. The plea stated that the bungalow was initially assigned to Atishi while she was a minister and continued to be occupied after she became the Chief Minister, following the resignation of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Jain's petition called for action against Atishi and demanded compensation for the alleged violation of rules.
