The Supreme Court Collegium on Wednesday recommended the appointment of two additional judges of the Madras High Court as permanent judges.

The judges confirmed for permanent positions are:

• Justice Venkatachari Lakshminarayanan
• Justice Periyasamy Vadamala

As of February 1, 2025, the Madras High Court is functioning with 65 judges, against a sanctioned strength of 75, leaving 10 vacancies.
