The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of two judges from the Telangana High Court — Justices P. Sree Sudha and K. Surender — as part of efforts to promote inclusivity and enhance the quality of judicial administration across High Courts.
As per the Collegium’s resolutions dated April 15 and 19, Justice P. Sree Sudha is proposed to be transferred to the Karnataka High Court, while Justice K. Surender is recommended for transfer to the Madras High Court.
The Collegium emphasized that the proposed transfers aim to "infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice."
Justice P. Sree Sudha pursued her law degree at AC College of Law, Guntur, and enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh. She practiced in Tenali, Srikalahasti, and Kavali before being directly appointed as a district judge in August 2002. After serving in the district judiciary for 19 years, she was elevated to the Telangana High Court in October 2021.
Justice K. Surender holds a degree in Geology and later pursued law, beginning his legal practice in 1992. He served as Assistant Additional Standing Counsel for the Central Government in the Andhra Pradesh High Court and was appointed as Senior Counsel for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the high-profile Satyam scam case. He was elevated to the Telangana High Court in November 2022.
