Petition Filed in Supreme Court to Postpone NEET PG 2024 Scheduled for August 11

A petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court requesting the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate examination (NEET PG 2024), currently set for August 11.

Filed by Vishal Soren, the plea highlights the difficulties candidates face in reaching their exam centers, as many have been assigned to inconvenient locations.

The allocation of test cities occurred on July 31, with the specific centers set to be announced tomorrow, August 8. This timeline has left candidates with insufficient time to travel to their designated centers for the August 11 exam, according to the petition.

"Many similarly placed candidates have been allocated cities that are highly inconvenient for them to reach and further seeking details of the formula for normalisation of the four sets of question paper and seeking clarity on ensuring that the normalisation formula is disclosed to the candidates thereby eliminating any possibility of arbitrariness in the process," the plea states.

Additionally, the examination is planned to be conducted in two batches, and the normalization formula remains undisclosed to the candidates, causing further concern. The petitioner has requested that the exam be postponed until the petition is resolved.
