P&H HC Upholds ED's Money Laundering Probe Against Former Dera Sachha Spokesperson Pawan Insa

In a recent development, the Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed the petition of former Dera Sachha spokesperson Pawan Insa.

In his plea, Insa sought to halt the money laundering proceedings initiated against him by the Enforcement Directorate.

Justice Manjari Nehru Kaul rejected Insa's arguments and upheld the investigation.

In the FIR lodged in Panchkula (Panchkula News), Pawan challenged the orders of the ED to investigate the money laundering aspect. According to the petition, no role of his has been revealed in this case, hence, this investigation should be stopped. It was told in the petition that on August 25, 2016, the CBI court of Panchkula had convicted Dera Mukhi in the Sadhvi sexual exploitation case.

After this, Panchkula police registered an FIR against the petitioner under various sections of the IPC at the Sector-5 police station on charges of conspiring to cause riots in Panchkula. Pawan Insa is accused of conspiring to commit these riots.

Pawan Insa has challenged the High Court regarding the transfer of the FIR to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for investigating the aspect of money laundering related to the recent riots. Now, the ED is tasked with uncovering the sources of funds used during these disturbances. As part of their inquiry, the ED needs to record Pawan Insa's statement.
