Justice Manmohan Sworn In as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court

Justice Manmohan was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court on Sunday. The oath of office was administered by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at Raj Niwas, the official residence and secretariat of the LG.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, along with Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Ram Niwas Goel, and the Leader of the Opposition.

Also present were judges of the Delhi High Court, Principal District and Sessions Judges of Delhi District Courts, the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Delhi, and the Commissioner of Police.

The Central Government notified Justice Manmohan's appointment as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court on September 21. Prior to this, he had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice. The Supreme Court collegium had recommended his appointment on July 11. Justice Manmohan is set to retire on December 16.

Justice Manmohan was designated as a senior advocate by the Delhi High Court on January 18, 2003. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on March 13, 2008, and became a Permanent Judge on December 17, 2009. He assumed the role of Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court on November 9, 2023.
