Jiah Khan Suicide Case : Mumbai Court likely to pronounce its verdict on April 28

Nearly ten years after she was found dead at her home, a special CBI court in Mumbai is likely to pronounce its verdict in the Bollywood actress Jiah Khan suicide case on April 28.

In the said matter, Jia's boyfriend and film star Sooraj Pancholi has been accused of inciting the actress.

Yesterday, CBI Special Judge AS Sayyed heard the final arguments of both sides and reserved its verdict.

25-year-old actress Jiah Khan was found dead on June 3, 2013, at her Juhu home in Mumbai. Police found a six-page letter from the house which was allegedly written by the Bollywood star. On the basis of this, Sooraj Pancholi was arrested and a case was registered against him for "inciting" the actress to commit suicide. The case was handed over to a special CBI court in 2021 after the sessions court said it did not have jurisdiction over the matter as it was probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

During an investigation, the mother of Lt. Actress, Rabia had told the CBI court that Suraj used to physically and verbally abuse Jia. Rabia had told the court that neither the police nor the CBI had collected any "legal evidence" to prove that her daughter had committed suicide.
