Consumer Court Sends Notices to SRK, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff Over Vimal Pan Masala Ad

A consumer forum in Jaipur has issued notices to Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff regarding an alleged misleading advertisement for Vimal Pan Masala.

The Jaipur District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has also sent notices to the manufacturers of Vimal Pan Masala.

The commission, led by President Gyarsilal Meena and Member Hemlata Agarwal, has summoned the actors and manufacturers to appear on March 19, either in person or through a representative, to address concerns regarding the advertisement’s claim that each grain of the product contains saffron.

The case originated from a complaint filed by advocate Yogendra Singh Badiyal, who alleged that the Vimal Pan Masala advertisement misleads consumers by suggesting the product contains saffron, despite a significant price disparity between the two.

According to Badiyal’s petition, the tagline "Daane daane mein hai kesar ka dum" (every grain has the strength of saffron) has helped the company generate substantial revenue.

He contended that the marketing strategy misleads consumers by implying a health benefit, despite the product being harmful and potentially causing serious diseases like cancer.

Badiyal urged legal action against the actors for disseminating "misinformation" and sought an immediate directive to halt the advertisements.
