The Central government, on February 12, approved the appointment of Advocate Taj Ali Moulasab Nadaf as a judge of the Karnataka High Court.
"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Taj Ali Moulasab Nadaf to be an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office," the notification read.
In January 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Nadaf’s name along with two other lawyers.
As of February 1, 2025, the Karnataka High Court has 49 judges in place, against a sanctioned strength of 62, leaving 13 vacancies.
