Central Government Notifies Appointment of Five Madras High Court Additional Judges as Permanent

The Central Government, on Friday, issued a notification confirming the appointment of five additional judges of the Madras High Court as permanent judges.

The additional judges made permanent are Justices LC Victoria Gowri, PB Balaji, KK Ramakrishnan, Ramachandran Kalaimathi, and KG Thilakavadi.

On April 29, 2024, the Collegium of the Madras High Court unanimously recommended the names of the additional judges for appointment as permanent judges of the High Court.

Both the Chief Minister and the Governor of Tamil Nadu concurred with this recommendation. Subsequently, on September 10 of this year, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the elevation of the five additional judges of the Madras High Court to permanent judges.
