Central Government Appoints Two Judicial Officers as Judges of Patna High Court

The Central government announced the appointment of two judicial officers as judges of the Patna High Court on Tuesday.

Justices Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh and Ashok Kumar Pandey have been elevated following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium on September 24.

Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh joined the Judicial Service in May 1996 and has held various roles within the State judiciary. He is currently the Registrar (Vigilance) at the Patna High Court.

Meanwhile, Ashok Kumar Pandey entered the Judicial Service in December 1995 and has also served in multiple positions within the State judiciary; he is currently the Director of the Bihar Judicial Academy in Patna. 

The Patna High Court currently has a vacancy of 20 judges out of its sanctioned strength of 53 judges.
