YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court in response to multiple cases filed against him in various states. These cases stem from offensive and vulgar remarks made during a recent episode of India's Got Latent.
Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud presented the case before Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, requesting an urgent hearing. However, the CJI rejected the request, stating that oral mentions of cases are not allowed. Chandrachud highlighted that several FIRs had been filed against Allahbadia in different states.
In response, CJI Khanna clarified, "We have already set a date for the matter to be listed," emphasizing that the matter would be handled in due course. When Chandrachud mentioned the involvement of Assam police, the CJI firmly stated, "No oral mentioning."
Chandrachud reiterated that this petition was filed under Article 32 of the Constitution, but the CJI confirmed that a date had already been given and reiterated that it was a fresh matter.
The episode in question, filmed on November 14, 2024, at Khar Habitat and aired recently, featured offensive language from the show’s panel, including Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and others. This led to FIRs being filed against Allahbadia in Maharashtra and Assam.
