The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the All India Bar Examination - XVIII. According to the revised schedule, interested candidates now have the opportunity to register for the AIBE 18 examination via the official website, allindiabarexamination.com, until October 9, 2023. Additionally, the deadline for fee payment has also been extended until October 10, 2023. This extension provides candidates with more time to complete their registration and payment processes for the upcoming examination.

Previously, the application deadline was set for September 30, and as of now, there have been no official announcements regarding any alterations to the AIBE XVIII exam date. The exam is scheduled to take place in the traditional pen and paper format on October 29. It's worth noting that the Bar Council of India (BCI) has implemented modifications to the qualifying percentage for this year's examination.

BCI has introduced revised passing criteria for the All India Bar Examination. Under the new criteria, candidates from the general category are required to achieve a minimum of 45% marks to pass the examination, while for reserved category candidates, the pass percentage has been reduced to 40%. Previously, the pass percentage for both general category and reserved category candidates was set at 40%. These changes in the passing criteria reflect the updated standards for candidates in different categories taking the AIBE.

The AIBE 18 exam will be held for a duration of three hours (180 minutes) between 10 AM and 1 PM. The question paper will comprise of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) for a total of 100 marks. There will be no negative marking in the exam.
