Advocate Sartej Singh Narula was elected as the President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) on Friday.
Narula, who has been practicing since 1989, secured 1,781 votes, winning by a margin of 377 votes over his closest contender. He defeated the incumbent President, Vikas Malik, who finished third with 816 votes, while Advocate Ravinder Singh Randhawa secured the second position with 1,404 votes.
A total of seven candidates contested for the post, with polling taking place throughout the day.
In other results, Advocate Nilesh Bhardwaj was elected as Vice President, while Advocates Gangandeep Jammu, Bhagyashri Setia, and Harvinder Singh Maan were elected as Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer, respectively.
