Yet another Saturday hearing in Supreme Court today

Supreme Court is set for yet another hearing on a Saturday morning. The Supreme Court would hear the "Amrapali Case" today at 11 O'clock. Chief Justice of India UU Lalit and Justice Bela M. Trivedi would hear the cases of "Amrapali Case" in Court No.1.

It is for the first time that the Chief justice of India would hear a case on a Saturday. Although there is no urgency in the case but since the same composition of the bench is hearing the case of "Amrapali" and CJI Lalit is set to retire next month, he would try to take the case to a logical conclusion. The Amrapali case is pending before the Supreme Court since 2017. It was earlier heard by the bench of Justice Arun Mishra, and Ashok Bhushan.

Recently a bench of Justices MR Shah and Bela M. Trivedi also heard the case of GN Saibaba on a Saturday morning on a special mentioning of the Union Government.
