On Monday, a witness in a criminal case was reportedly assaulted with a blade by the accused inside Karkardooma court.

The attack occurred amid a heated argument while Special Judge Alok Shukla was presiding over the case.

According to a source present at the scene, the victim sustained injuries to his face and neck. Following the assault, the chowki police stationed within the courtroom quickly transported the injured witness to a hospital.

The courtroom was left with visible bloodstains after the incident. The accused, who was in judicial custody, remains involved in the ongoing criminal proceedings.
