Vyapam Case: Eight accused sentenced to 7 years RI by Spl Court

The Special Court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta convicted 8 (Eight) accused persons for 7 years of Rigorous Imprisonment under sections 419, 465, 467, 468 IPC and Sections 3/4 of the Afficilated Examination Act, 1937 in the 2013 Vyapam Scam and also imposed a fine of Rs. 6500 cumulatively.

Special Public Prosecutor Sanjay Sharma told that "The four convicts had appeared in place of four others during an entrance examination for an animal husbandry diploma course on 19th May 2013 at Holkar Science College. They were fought by the superintendent Sanjay Vyas. Ankit Singh, Azaz Ahmed, Anoop, and Avinash Kumar were taking exams in place of Makan Singh, Devendra, Ameer Holkar, and Rama Damor respectively. After that, the case was registered against them at the police Station."

The police arrested all the accused persons and Charge-sheet was filed before the Magistrate Court. After the trial, the court found them guilty and sentenced them to undergo various sections for a maximum period of seven years.

Vyapam is one of the biggest education Scams in known history which involves thousands of students, officers, politicians, colleges, and college staff. There are multi-FIRs have been filed in this Scam that are not coming to a conclusion.
