Varanasi Gyanvapi Case: ASI Requests Further Extension for Report Submission, Court Grants Additional Week

Today the Archaeological Survey of India was to submit the report in the Varanasi District Court but once again an additional period of one week has been sought by the ASI. This is the fourth time that ASI has sought additional time from the court to prepare the report. However, this time a week more time has been sought citing the senior ASI officer being unwell, which has been accepted by the court.

In the Varanasi Gyanvapi case, on November 30, the District Court had reprimanded the ASI and given an additional period of 10 days.

While giving information, Hindu side's lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that on the instructions of Varanasi District Court, ASI had to present the report in the court today. However, citing that the senior ASI officer is unwell due to high BP, more time of 1 week has been sought. Which was accepted by the court. This is the fourth time that ASI has sought additional period to prepare the report.

Since morning, there was a lot of activity in the court premises as well as in the city regarding the presentation of the ASI report. The round of discussions continued but once again with the date of December 18 being fixed, people's wait has increased.

Vishnu Shankar Jain gave a big statement during the conversation and said that the Muslim side's claim on the Gyanvapi campus reflects great stubbornness, not the mosque. Even before this, it was claimed that there is a mosque in Ayodhya Mathura which is completely baseless. All the evidence and evidence found in the ASI survey is enough to show that the Gyanvapi complex has a different history.
