Supreme Court issues its Calendar 2023: to have 190 working days and 175 holidays

Supreme Court registry has issued its Calendar for the year 2023. The functioning of the Supreme Court would start on 02nd January 2023 and would function till 15th December 2023 when the Supreme Court goes on winter vacation.

Supreme Court will have 190 working days and 175 holidays during the calendar year 2023.

The first Long vacation of the Supreme Court is set during Holi Vacation starting from 04th March to 12th March. Then For the Summer vacation, Supreme Court would close on 22nd May but since 20th May is a Saturday and 21st May is a Sunday, it virtually starts from 20th May and would reopen on 03rd July. Dussehra Vacation would be from 21st October to 29the October and Diwali Vacation would be from 11th November to 19th November.

The Sumer Vacation in Supreme Court would be 6 weeks long. Earlier the Supreme Court used to have a 10 week long summer vacation which was reduced by the then Chief Justice RM Lodha and it was amended to have a maximum summer vacation of 7 weeks.
