Supreme Court in disposal mode: directs to list old cases

The Supreme Court Registry has issued a circular saying that old cases would be listed before the court all five days for issuance of appropriate directions.

The list of cases is issued running into 274 pages. A total of 4744 cases are there in the list. This is in the wake of the Chief Justice of India's endeavour to dispose of cases speedily. 

Copies of the circular is forwarded to the Supreme Court Bar Association and Supreme Court Advocate on Record Bar Association for appropriate action.

The Circular dated 05th January 2024 reads as "Members of the Bar, Parties-in-Person and all Stakeholders are informed that “Old After Notice Matters” as per the list appended herewith will be listed before the Hon’ble Courts “For Directions” on all five days of the week."
