Supreme Court data will now be available on National Judicial Data Grid : CJI DY Chandrachud

Recently, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrchud has announced that the Supreme Court will soon be linked to NJDG. So that people will be able to easily get data related to pending cases and disposal rate.

At present, the portal displays data exclusively up to the High Court level. However, as the Chief Justice of India initiated the day's proceedings in the Supreme Court, he announced that the Supreme Court's data would now be updated in real-time on the NJDG platform.

During announcemet, CJI informed, ''This is a historic day. It is a unique and informative platform developed by the in-house team of NIC and Supreme Court. Now at the click of a button you can check the pendency and disposal of cases, year-wise, total pendency of registered and unregistered cases, quorum-wise number of cases decided. Can view real time information.''

Further, Uploading the data on NJDG will ensure transparency and accountability in the judicial sector.

NJDG is a database of orders, judgments and case details of 18,735 district and subordinate courts and high courts created as an online platform under the eCourts Project. The data is updated on a near real-time basis by the connected district and taluka courts.

It provides data related to judicial proceedings and decisions of all computerized District and Subordinate Courts of the country. All High Courts have also joined NJDG through web services, thereby facilitating easy access to the litigating public.
