Supreme Court activates Online Appearance: Will work from January 2, 2023

As the Chief Justice of India Dr. DY Chandrachud had promised, the Supreme Court of India has developed a module to give online appearance. As per the notice dated 30th December 2022, the module is going to be activated from 02.01.2023. 

The Supreme Court has earlier issued a notice in this regard wherein it was stated that the Supreme Court is going to save more than 2,00,000/- papers every year.

The notice No. F.No.5/Judl./2022 dated 30th December, 2022 reads as under:-

"Take Notice that the Advocates-on-Record may mark the appearances of the Advocates appearing in the Court through the link provided on the website https://main.sci.gov.in and on the Official Mobile App of the Supreme Court of India. The said facility shall be available for the duration spanning from the publication of the Cause List on the website till 11.30 a.m. on the date of hearing of the matter. The User Manual for the same is available on the website."

The notice further says that for any query, the Advocate-on-recoed may contact the concerned court Master whose contact details are available on the web-site on daily basis.

The Supreme Court has completely dispensed the earlier procedure of giving appearance through email IDs from the repoing.

Presently the Supreme Court is undergoing winter-break and its reopening on 02.01.2022.
